Survival knowledge has a fatal flaw: you can't Google it when you need it
Every skill in that manual matters on exactly one day — the day with no signal, no charger, and no second chances. And here's what most families get wrong:
- The manual sits on a shelf. Nobody reads 233 pages of Army doctrine for fun.
- Survival "facts" from YouTube and movies are often exactly backwards — the kind of wrong that hurts people (rub frostbite with snow, drink a little seawater, suck out the venom).

- What exactly do I get?

- Why does the downloaded file sometimes just show a blank screen on my iPhone?
- iOS Safari has gotten strict about running a downloaded HTML file's own code, so on some iPhones the file opens to nothing. It's a phone-and-browser limitation, not a broken download. Use "Install it as an app" instead — it's built specifically to sidestep this.
- Is this the actual Army manual?
- The questions and the in-app book are built directly from FM 21-76 (1992), a public-domain work of the U.S. Government. This project is not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Army.
- What ages is it for?
- Written for roughly 10+ reading level. It covers real survival topics (injuries, dangerous animals, emergencies) at the same level as the manual itself.
- Does the leaderboard sync between devices?
